Mig and Tig Welding: Welding Defects

MiG Welding:

Welding using welding electrodes, using a decaying wire in the continuous flow of inactive gas, such as argon, helium etc., is called Mig welding. In this, electrodes themselves work as fillers rods.

Advantages of MiG welding:

6. Cost less. 


Tig Welding: 

Welding using welded electrodes in the welding process of a continuous flux of inactive gas such as argon, helium etc. is called tig welding. It does not apply filler rod.

The application areas of Tig welding are:
1. Aircraft manufacturing factory
2. In the chemical industry
3. Food Processing
4. Liquor factory
5. Welding the root line of the pipeline.

The advantages of tig welding are:

1. The welding floor is smooth and flat.
2. No spatter is produced.
3. The chorus does not deliver
4. Slug is not created. 


What are the welding defects?

1. Distorted: If the original metal is heated indefinitely, it is changed due to collapsing and crunching due to the contraction and expansion during the cold.

2. Undercut: Extra heated and faulty weld motions cause the cutting edge of the metal and weld metal cutting line to make an uneven line. It is the undercut.

3. Incomplete PENETRATION: Inadequate and less intrinsic insides inside the original metal are called incomplete PENETRATION.

4. Excess PENETRATION: When the extra weld metal enters the welding pair, it is known as the magnitude penalty.

5. Spatter: Sprayers are spread around molten metal and spread out as spatter.
6. Overlap: If the base metal does not override the base metal, then the magnitude of the metal is overlaid on it, it is called duplication.

7. Crack: Due to the additional current flow it occurs.
